Bio

Robert Shaw is a Philadelphia native. Born on January 1, 1963. Educated in the Philly public school system. Enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in April 1981. Worked as a Security Policeman for the first five years. Four years at Volkel AB, The Netherlands. One year at Minot AFB, North Dakota. After that worked as a Crew Chief on the U-2R/TR-1 spy plane. Four years at Beale AFB, California. Two years at Alconbury AFB, England. Served in the military until June 1992.

After his military service, Robert’s work history includes: UPS, Cellular Phone Sales and Customer Service at the Franklin Mint.

Robert’s career job began in March 1996 where he was employed as an Operator at the Phillips66 refinery in Trainer Pennsylvania. Robert quickly advanced up the ladder and worked as an Operations Supervisor and Unit Trainer. Robert was relocated to Rosenberg Texas in February 2012, after the closure of the Trainer refinery. There he worked in the training department, Field Supervisor and Operations Supervisor. During this time, Robert was the President of the Sweeny Refinery Black Employee Network. This allowed Robert to help ensure employee rights were not violated, hiring practices were fair and people were given equal opportunities to advance. He then closed out his career in January 2022.

Robert retired and moved to Florida and is currently living in Stone Creek. Robert is active in golf, fishing, softball and community engagement.
